Digital upload or printed photo — which do you need?
Some applications want a file, some want prints, and a few want both at different stages.
Online applications
These usually specify minimum pixel dimensions and a maximum file size. Matching the physical millimetre size is not enough on its own — check both.
In-person and postal applications
You will need physical prints, normally two identical copies. A print sheet with cut guides at any photo lab or on home photo paper is the cheapest route.
Print at exactly 100%
The most common printing mistake is leaving “fit to page” enabled, which silently shrinks the photo by a few per cent and puts it out of spec.
